Viewing Boston and the surrounding area through tourist's eyes.

Thanks for hanging in there with me. I haven't had time to post, but I did update the "Coming Attraction" section of my blog. Check it out when you get a change and feel free to add to it via comments.

About Playing Tourist

Tourists always seem to get a bad rap, especially if you live in a city frequently visited by them - they are noisy and in general get in the way of everyday life.   But I must confess, I think being a tourist is fun (minus being loud and being in the way).  You get to explore new places, learn about the location's history, met new people, try different foods and much more.

I guess you can say I love to travel - I blame it on my parents - but it isn't a bad passion to have. Growing up, I was lucky enough to live in four countries and receive multiple stamps and visas in my passport.  Joining the throngs of tourists and seeing the quintessence sights of a location are amazing experiences to have as a child.  For me, traveling equals going to far off places and experiencing new cultures and foods.  Unfortunately life has gotten in the way of my travel dreams - currently consist of visiting Greece, Portugal and China.  I currently lack the time and financial means to go to far off places and explore.

However, just because I am not able to go abroad does not mean I can't be a tourist closer to home.  Playing Tourist will document my tourist excursions in and around Boston - where I am currently living.  As a city rich in history and culture, Boston is host to a number of tourist attractions - many that I past on a regular basis, but don't always take time to appreciate.  I look forward to exploring this city (more than I have already done) and sharing my experiences with you.  I also encourage you to get out and be a tourist yourself.  I would love to hear about your experiences as well as sights that I should see, after all, traveling is more fun when done with others.
